Mission

Poverty Alliance Welfare Trust is a national non-governmental non-profit organisation established in Pakistan under The Trust Act 1882. Our mission is to eliminate human rights violations in Pakistan by advancing human rights education and awareness and the improvement of the rights of women, minorities and other disadvantaged or marginalized persons or groups across Pakistan inclusive of TDP’s, IDP’s, and refugees. We will work to promote education, health, rehabilitation, alleviating human suffering, eradication of illiteracy & poverty, and rural development through the establishment of schools, colleges, hospitals, skill development centers, and women welfare institutions.

Our Objectives

(a) Provide a platform for dialogue and collective action among and between peace and development stakeholders.


(b) Empower citizens and government to develop representative, responsive, participatory, and accountable governance.

 

(c) Strengthen community and institutional resilience too and management of crisis, including conflict and natural disaster.

 

(d) Facilitate locally-driven socio-economic improvements through cooperative processes that promote inclusion, equitable benefit, and responsible stewardship.

 

(e) Serve the poor of Pakistan

 

(f) Seek funds to strengthen the above work.

 

(g) To establish, manage, maintain, own, administer, promote, control and subsidize educational institutions, computer literacy centers, schools, colleges, institutions for study and research, centers of learning, reading rooms, hostels, boarding houses and other institutions for basic education, adult literacy, advanced studies and other educational forums with the permission of competent authority.

 

(h) To work for development of human resources, poverty alleviation, promotion of social and economic well being of the masses, betterment of health, improvement of social status, social mobilization for prosperous society, elimination of gender discrimination, and pollution free environment particularly in the rural areas of Pakistan.

 

(i) To empower poor and deprived people by training through skill development centers, where people shall get training in computer hard ware, software, sewing, beauty parlor, handicraft, interior designing, architect, auto cad or any other appropriate skills that would enable them to earn their livelihood with dignity and supporting the society with their positive contribution instead of being a burden on the society.
