Who we are

Poverty Alliance Welfare Trust is a national non-governmental non-profit organisation established in Pakistan under The Trust Act 1882. We believe that everyone has a right to live free of poverty in Pakistan. People of Pakistan has the right to a sustainable livelihood; to life and security; to freedom of speech and religion.

People lose their voice and power in poverty. Poverty results in less income, lack of access to basic necessities, deeper inequalitie and lack of development. Poverty is worsened by Natural disasters and human violence and women are afected most by the resulting poverty.

Pakistan is facing an unprecedented challanges in current times, including famines, energy crises, natrual disasters, terrorism and displacement of people as a result of military operations against the terrorists. We thus work with some of the most underprivilged communities of Pakistan, including Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), by responding to man-made and natural disaters, improving access to education and health and creating oppertunities for the communities to alleviate poverty.

We are the only organization to have reached out to the most underpreviliged community of FATA and worked with the communities without any threats by involving the communities and openly working with them.
